Phone scammers are targeting seniors, claiming to be IRS employees and convincing their victims that they owe taxes that need to be paid immediately. Know that the IRS will never make an unsolicited call to tell you that any taxes are owed.
Fraudsters are also lurking to interfere with the new Medicare Cards that are being issued between now and April 2019. Medicare is automatically sending these new cards, at no charge to you, and they will never ask for your personal information to issue the card.
